Competitive Events

SLC Guide — Competitive Event Information

Some competitive events require materials to be pre-scored (e.g. essays, videos, etc.) prior to the on-site competition. Review the Competitive Event Summary to see which materials are pre-scored for each competition and contest. Teacher leaders will submit all pre-scored materials online through the Judge Pro platform. If pre-scored materials are not submitted by the deadline, competitors will still be eligible to compete at SLC but will receive 0 points for the pre-scored components in the rubric.

Nebraska Educators Rising Competitive Event Policies

Chapter Voting Delegates

Each chapter should choose two (2) individuals to serve as Voting Delegates. It is recommended that these individuals not be involved in Competitive Events on Monday, as their schedule is very specific. These members must be available to participate for the entirety of the State Officer Candidate Speeches in order to cast their votes.
Each chapter receives two votes for State Officer Candidates, one for each voting delegate. Chapters do not have to submit the names of their voting delegates prior to the conference. Voting Delegates will receive their nametag ribbon and official ballot upon check-in at the State Officer Candidate Speeches. The nametag ribbon will serve as their clearance to cast their ballots by 7:00pm on Monday, February 23. If Voting Delegates do not sign in for the State Officer Candidate Speeches, they will not receive nametag ribbons or official ballots and will not be eligible to cast votes.
